Learning Experience Designer · Learning & Organizational Development Specialist
I create learning experiences that meet people where they are, then help teams build a culture where learning becomes a habit.
What I do
Whether you need one course built or a better way for your people to learn and grow, I start by listening.
End-to-end course development in Articulate Rise 360 and a range of learning management systems, from storyboards and scripts to narration, video and assessments.
For teams who need a finished courseTraining for real-world audiences, written at the reading level they need, so the message lands the first time.
For agencies, nonprofits and field teamsI find out what people actually need to do differently, then design only the learning that gets them there.
For leaders deciding what to buildWorkshops and programs that build engagement, belonging and growth, grounded in how people feel at work.
For organizations ready to invest in peopleSelected work
Training that helps New Mexico cattle producers spot and respond to a serious livestock pest. I rebuilt the course so busy ranchers could get through it faster and remember more.
A course that shows working adults how to put AI tools to use. Each module opens with a welcome video, sets clear learning objectives, then teaches through a story video so the ideas feel real.
I'm currently building courses on audio description, the craft of describing visual media for blind and low-vision audiences. Learners practice hands-on.
How I work
Research
How people feel shapes what they learn, and whether they stay.
A construct from my doctoral research on how ambient sound shapes emotional response. It helps me design learning people feel, not just read.
A framework I'm developing that builds on Emotional Event Presence. It looks at emotional investment the way economists look at money: what people put in, and what they get back. It applies to learners, teams and whole organizations.
Background
Research on ambient sound, emotion and engagement.
Teaching English to speakers of other languages.
Instructional designer at NMSU and online professor at Full Sail University.
